A Midsummer's Nights Dream: Act 2 Scene 1 and 2

This is the act that started all the drama of the love triangle. It all began when we were introduced to Puck who is the henchmen of Oberon, the fairy king. Oberon and Titania, the fairy queen, had a huge fight on who would get the young boy that was given to Titania by her friend. When the battle died down Oberon decided to place a spell on Titania which would make her fall in love with the next creature she put her eyes on. As Puck went to retrieve this liquid, Helena and Demetrius show up in the forest pacing quickly. Demitrius was furious at Helena for following him and giving him wrong directions to Hermia so he ended up leaving her alone in the forest. Puck returned with the love potion and was given new orders by Oberon to place some drops into the eyes of an Athenian man that had a maid chasing him with love. Unfortunately, at the time of his orders Hermia and Lysander where taking rest nearby and Puck mistakenly took Lysander for Demetrius and put the drops into his eyes. When Lysander awoke as Helena was by his side he automatically fell in love with her and at that moment Helena became upset, for she thought that Lysander was just teasing her. With a few words she left and Lysander followed leaving Hermia all alone in the forest.
In act 2, it all begins when Puck accidentally placed the love potion into Lysander's eyes instead of Demetrius'. As Helena chases after Demetrius, she spots Lysander sleeping and wakes him up. When Lysander sees Helena, he immediately falls in love with her. He tells Helena how much she loves her and with that she becomes really upset because she believes that Lysander is playing with her. Helena leaves in a hurry and Lysander follows but leaves hermia to wake up all alone.

A Midsummer's Nights Dream:Act 1 Scene 1 and 2

This act was about how Hermia and Lysander had fought to find their love. Egeus was against Hermia loving Lysander and he wanted Hermia to marry Demetrius. Theseus made the proposal that if hermia did not chose to marry Demetrius she would either die or become a nun. After the discussion about Hermia, Lysander asked Hermia if she would marry him beyond the law of Athens. As they talked about where they would get married, Helena stepped in to overhear their conversation and she concocted a plan to make Demetrius notice her.
In act 2 the group of actors met to discuss the roles of the play for "Pyramus and Thisby". There was an actor named Bottom who believes that he can play all the parts because he is a great actor. A man named Flute was given a woman's part as Thisby and he was not very fond of the idea. After the long discussion for who gets what part, they decided to rehearse in the forest outside Athens.

The Chinese Civil War

The Chinese Civil War was about when many different political and military portions of this country fought for the power of China. It all started when Chiang Kai-shek's Kuomintang defeated Mao Tse-tung's forces which broke an alliance with the communists while they were on their way to establishing a new national government in 1928. The communists retreated to a barren and a remote base area in northwest China with an army that had become a fraction of what it used to be.
Then the communists forces began to take over the Kuomintang territory by the use of guerilla warfare. Although the United States tried to end the war between the capitalists and communists because they didn't want a communist victory. Unfortunately, none of the sides wanted to reach a compromise or give up the territories that they seized. The United States saw this as a pointless situation so they just funded the capitalists with funds, no military support. To no help, the communists continued to win victory after victory and established the People's Republic of China. Finally, the communists force took over major cities and made Chiang Kai-shek surrender to Taiwan.

My Ghost Story

There was a time when my dad was thirteen and was planning to go camping with his neighbors and his family. It was a nice day and his friends dad had already gone to Mokuleia to set up camp. He finished setting up and went to pick up my dad and his friend. On his way driving to Millilani he saw an old woman walking on the side of the road so, he manuevered to the side of the road. He asked the old woman " Heh! You need one ride? Where you goin?". The woman responded " Can I have a ride to Wahiawa?". My dads friends father picked up the lady and dropped her off at the town of Wahiawa.
He arrived at the school to see the two boys were already packed and set to go on the three day camp. They jumped into the car with great excitement and began to laugh with anxiety. The father just sat there wondering what happened to the lady who was walking in the middle of nowhere. My dad and his friend yelled at him "Let's go, hurry up! " They finally drove off to enjoy the nice Hawaiian beach.
The trio was about thirty minutes away from their campsite when my dad's friend shouted " That's the same old lady !". My dad turned around and saw an old woman carrying a stick with a red bandanna at the end. She had long white hair and a plain t-shirt with ratty shorts. She was walking along the sugarcane fields a couple of miles from civilization. Everyone in the car looked back at the woman as she disappeared beyond the horizon.
As they approached the beach my dad's family was already fishing on the shoreline. When the boys ran out to the shore his friends dad strolled to where everyone else was. My dad's friends father went to talk to some of the local guys that were standing right beside our fishing lines. He asked them" Eh you guys ever see one old woman walking on the side of the sugarcane road ? ". There was a long pause as the three men stared at each other when one man said " That's her".
The friends father gave a confused look and the fishers understood the expression his face gave. One man said " Today long ago there was an old lady who's car broke down and decided to walk to Wahiawa". The father asked " What happened to her?" The fisher replied " She was run over by a car and died" When the friends father thought harder about this, it was impossible for the lady to travel back to the exact same spot where she was picked up earlier. She was about two miles from the site and the school was only minutes away. How can you walk about two miles in ten minutes at that age?
When my dad heard this he began to think and asked himself " Why would she go back to where she was picked up earlier?". As my dad continued to think about this his friends dad screamed " Ho, I went pick up one ghost !"

Free Write: Friends

Friends are people that can make us laugh and get us through tough times in our lives. They enjoy to hang out with for who you are and can trust you with deep secrets. To have a friend that will sacrifice things to make your life easier is the best to have around. You don't only need to have one good friend but you can have a wide variety of friends that you can do activities with. They are just like a second family and the people you associate with can mold you into the person that you become in the future. I'm very lucky to have good friends that have my back when I need it and to lift me back on my feet when I fall down. Like my mom always says " Friends are forever, so keep it close to your heart ."

Free Post: School

During the third quarter, I recognized that I was getting a little more lazy in school work and projects. I finish my homework during school so I don't have to do anything at home. When I think about it, during the first semester I was usually ahead in my classes but now I just do what needs to be done and when I have projects piled up ontop of that I get stressed. I have no idea why I have become more lazy when I need to improve my grades in subjects. It irritates me a little that I can't do things ahead of time because that would make my life much more convenient. I should stop procrastinating before it becomes a bad habit.
Although I have adjusted to what the homework asks for during my nights and the classes I'm taking are fun and interesting. I enjoy my classes but they ask for a lot of effort and time. I understand that this will only benefit me in the future so, whenever homework attacks in numbers I'll give my best and never give up.

What will make me Happy and Successful in life?

These pictures express my veiw of what will bring the qualities that I look for in life. First, I want to graduate from Stanford University with my diploma and my PhD in either the dentistry or optometry fields. Then, I am going to begin my own business in Hawaii and reside here as well. When I get settled in my practice, I will create days where senior citizens can have a free check up. Once I get enough money I will then put my effort into finding a house instead of the apartment I'm living in. After I get my dream home, then I would look for someone to spend the rest of my life with and statr a family.

Story Part 2: My Dad, the Duck, and the Goose

There are people in our lives that create a boundless humor with their priceless actions. The situations that they get into and the steps taken to escape it. In my life, the person that upheld these qualities was my father.
The crowd cheered with screams of spectators and the beating of the thunder sticks. Hawaii down by five points had fought back to take the lead with kills and outstanding blocks. The game finished at the half as Hawaii pulled away two games to one.
The stands began to filter out to use the bathroom and get more food into their gurgling stomachs. My grandfather was a smart man and decided to use the restroom before the mile long line formed outside. Unfortunately, my father was not as smart, for he was only seven , and he needed to go to empty out the tank. He told my grandfather and sprinted down the long flight of stairs of the Stan Sheriff Center. When he reached his destination he jolted into the first open stall without even shutting the door. Luckily my grandfather caught up with him and shut the door behind him. With all the excitement of trying to catch up to my dad, my grandpa had to use the bathroom as well.
My dad finished and my grandfather had begun tocomplete his business when my dad crawled underneath the stall door. He yelled from outside " I remember where our seats are!", and vanished. My grandfather yelled" Get back here!" but the only responses were the deep flushing of the toilets, running water of the sinks, and ripping of those rough, brown towels.
My dad continued on his journey as he saw the ice cream stands, trays of nachos, volleyball souveneirs, and a lot of people wearing green. Within a few minutes, the hairs on the back of his neck straightened and he began to feel the sensation of becoming lost. Sweat arrived on his forehead and it trickled down until it hit the stone floor. He closed his eyes and thought to himself that he wasn't lost anymore.
When he opened his eyes he was sorrounded by giant green trees full of voice, laughter, and movement. There was also stands piling ontop of shelves. The shelves flowed with candies of all sorts and kinds that could fill you with happiness.
As he continued to walk through the hustle and bustle of those noisy trees, he came to a giant cave. he had a sense that this cave would would take him back home. My dad was shaking with fear and closed his eyes to visualize a happy place. His body began to change into an animal full of courage, a tiger.
He prowled with caution through the dark, moist cave nd saw a bright light at the end. The light shone forth blinding him and he turned back into his old self. He looked around and saw a huge arena soorounded by crazed indians screaming, yelling, and waving sticks that made thunder. In the center there was giants hitting a boulder over a large net of vines.
My father wished that he could have powers to return home and he began to glow as he turned into a wizard with a gold wand. He swooshed his wand and everything began to become swirly and dizzy until it went dark.
When he opened his eyes he was back into reality. My dad was standing right in front of his seat section so he galloped into the doorway. As he was rushing past the attentive spectators he tapped their heads with his wand and they turned into ducks and geese. Finally he reached his parents and gave them a gigantic hug so te people turned back into humans and he was finally back into true reality.
When the game ended, he walked outside and to his amazement there was a duck waddling by, and as it made it's way past my father it gave a wink.

Essential Question: What will make me successful and happy in life?

In order for me to be happy and successful in life I must follow and accompolish in my dreams. Working hard and persevering throughout tough times is what I have to do to also reach success. Happiness comes with being successful and successfulness comes with being happy. Everything in my life must have a meaning and must be used to it's fullest.
The dreams that I have is to first off make it into Stanford University with a scholarship from judo, wrestling, and maybe something academic. I want to graduate with my PhD in either optometry or dentistry and return to Hawaii after that.
Once I establish a business in Hawaii, I will be looking forward to help people that need it. I will create a plan that ensures anyone over the age of 65 will get a free check-up. This will occur twice every month and this will make me burst with happiness.
Of couse, I'm also going to need to find someone that I can spend the rest if my life with. After I make enough money, I'm going to buy a good sized house and furnish it. In this house, I need someone who can always be there for me, always care for me, and always love me. When I find this person I know deep inside I will truly be happy because I was successful with my life.

Family Story: PART 1

There is always one person in a family that makes life interesting for all. In my family it was my father who had made the humor flow throughout their lives. M grandmother would tel me many stories about my father but there was only one that stood out from all the rest.
He was about seven or eight years old and he went to a volleyball game with his parents. It was half time and he really needed to use the bathroom so they went. He and his dad went in the same stall together and my dad finished first so he crawled underneath the door. My grandfather yelled " Come back here, right now!" But my father told him that he remebered where the seats were. When his dad returned, he was no where to be found. His mother screamed "Where is he?" At the opposite end of the row, there he was just standing and waving back at his parents. His mom told him to get back here, so as he came through the row he was tapping the heads of the people in front of him. While he was tapping the heads of the unsuspecting spectators he was calling out " Duck, Duck, Goose!"

Who Am I ?

I am a person with a great passion to fill people with happiness. It flows throughout my veins and stays in my heart. Another characteristics is my selfish ambition, to become the best I can be. One of my favorite authors wrote " If you never try, how far do you possibly think you can go in life?" My belief is that you should give your best in everything that you set your mind towards because in the long run it will eventually pay off. An ironic thing is that I'm also soft hearted and I can be engulfed with guilt in an instant. My family says that I'm just like my great grandmother who is generous, hardworking, and who persevered throughout the hardships of the Pearl Harbor bombing. I am a person who still has yet to find out who I truly am.

The Purpose of Blogging

Communcation is one of the most important assets to become a stronger person throughout life. This component is what brings together all of the unique people of the world to understand one another without using violence. To me this blog is just another way to be able to communicate with classmates, teachers, and people from around the globe. It can also be used to teach a different culture what we are in our culture. Blogging can be used to express opinions and information that we find important to share. It can also be used to open up and provide readers with a sense of who this person is. A blog has many different functions that intertwine to create a bridge that extends from one person to another which can make them appreciate who we truly are.
