My Ghost Story

There was a time when my dad was thirteen and was planning to go camping with his neighbors and his family. It was a nice day and his friends dad had already gone to Mokuleia to set up camp. He finished setting up and went to pick up my dad and his friend. On his way driving to Millilani he saw an old woman walking on the side of the road so, he manuevered to the side of the road. He asked the old woman " Heh! You need one ride? Where you goin?". The woman responded " Can I have a ride to Wahiawa?". My dads friends father picked up the lady and dropped her off at the town of Wahiawa.
He arrived at the school to see the two boys were already packed and set to go on the three day camp. They jumped into the car with great excitement and began to laugh with anxiety. The father just sat there wondering what happened to the lady who was walking in the middle of nowhere. My dad and his friend yelled at him "Let's go, hurry up! " They finally drove off to enjoy the nice Hawaiian beach.
The trio was about thirty minutes away from their campsite when my dad's friend shouted " That's the same old lady !". My dad turned around and saw an old woman carrying a stick with a red bandanna at the end. She had long white hair and a plain t-shirt with ratty shorts. She was walking along the sugarcane fields a couple of miles from civilization. Everyone in the car looked back at the woman as she disappeared beyond the horizon.
As they approached the beach my dad's family was already fishing on the shoreline. When the boys ran out to the shore his friends dad strolled to where everyone else was. My dad's friends father went to talk to some of the local guys that were standing right beside our fishing lines. He asked them" Eh you guys ever see one old woman walking on the side of the sugarcane road ? ". There was a long pause as the three men stared at each other when one man said " That's her".
The friends father gave a confused look and the fishers understood the expression his face gave. One man said " Today long ago there was an old lady who's car broke down and decided to walk to Wahiawa". The father asked " What happened to her?" The fisher replied " She was run over by a car and died" When the friends father thought harder about this, it was impossible for the lady to travel back to the exact same spot where she was picked up earlier. She was about two miles from the site and the school was only minutes away. How can you walk about two miles in ten minutes at that age?
When my dad heard this he began to think and asked himself " Why would she go back to where she was picked up earlier?". As my dad continued to think about this his friends dad screamed " Ho, I went pick up one ghost !"
